Default AC line thing?

I'm having AC problems? Well not really I have been with out an ac for many years now. But I'm getting older now lol? But anyways I can not for the life of me take this line off? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

try putting the tool into the spring and twisting the fitting while pushing and pulling the garter spring may be rusted and this may release it also some rust penetrant

well I got it off now... but I'm trying to replace everything. the nut holding the dryer is cross threaded from who ever put it in last so I'm stuck at this point..

----------

I've tried using a torch, but I don't want to mess up anything else while heating it up and I don't own a nut buster or anything similar...

Something tells me that you need to get a pro to get your a/c up and running. "AC line thing" LMAO!
If the system has been open that long, then the compressor is most likely toast.

Thanks for the input... But it was never open, I was trying to replace everything. The compressor hasn't been working for sometime now. But I don't see a reason to pay some shop $1,200 to do my ac when I can do it myself for $300 or so.
I got the "AC line thing" off, but ran into a cross threaded accumulator that took some time to get off. But the ac is working like new now...
