Any words of wisdom on how to fab up mounting brackets for my recently acquired flatbed?
I found this gem on craigslist - super beefy aluminum construction, made up by a local marine fabricator. Prior to finding it, I was considering picking up a new Aluma - but this was about 1/3 the price and built like a tank. I also like that the bed is made from concrete form boards instead of aluminum.
I've set it in place on wood blocks in the pics below, trying to get a feel for placement.
However, while it came off a B2600 - it was a much older model than my 2006 Ranger, so the mounting points don't line up. Not a huge deal as it has pretty massive aluminum i-beams going left to right, so I'm thinking some simple support brackets could be fabbed up, placing the bed across them then attaching with angle iron.
I've had trouble posting here as a new member - if the above makes it through, I'll follow up with more pics and details of the frame and underside of the flatbed.
