door bumper spacers

My drivers side door rattles on bumps.What have you used to space out the rubber bumpers? Thanks

Swap the bump from the door to the door jam. Replace removed bump from door jam on door. No more rattle.

So did you have to drill the door jam? I notice 2 bumpers on both doors and you lost me on your explanation.Thanks chris

So you just swapped them out or changed places?

Just change places.

Right now your bump stops should look like this.

Just switch the one from the door and the door jamb.

it will look like this when done.

You could probably try and adjust the door latch somehow too if needed.

Okay I switched them around but didn't go down the streets I notice the rattle was the worse on, but I didn't notice any rattle on the other streets I went down on my way to mcDonalds.Tomorrow when I got to work, will go down the the rattle streets that are on the way, I'll find out then if it cured it.So far so good! Thanks

Well I drove down the rough streets coming home from work that made my door rattle and drove me insane after switching the rubber bumpers as Chris suggested the rattle is completely gone. Thank you Chris!

kinda funny you made this thread bob, my drivers door also developed a rattle over the last couple of months that has been bugging me.

Chris, thanks for the info on swapping the door bumpers, I just did mine hopefully it helps tomorrow.

I realize this thread is old but I was dealing with the exact same problem for a long time. Drove me insane. It's threads like this that make me come back here over and over again. Such a simple fix. The only thing I did different was that after switching the door stops there was still a little rattle. So the next time I was at the junk yard I grabbed two more lower door stops (the semi cone shaped ones) and used 4 of them. Now there is no rattle at all. Thanks Bob C for starting this thread.
