Repair or replace step or nerf bars?
Not sure whether to replace or powdercoat or paint,Rhinoline my rusted step bars.I can assume any aftermarket step bar wouldn't last as long as original and since my original bars are rusted, the rust would return after a period of time, I can't make a sound decision. What's your take on this and what direction have some of you taken?

Let's see them! Hard to determine without pics.
I'm in the market for bars just can't decide. Chrome, black, single pad, dual pad, flat, round, oval......

Good luck getting the bolts off those without them breaking.

Yup. I broke like half of mine taking them off. And I used PB blaster beforehand.

Re: Repair or replace step or nerf bars?
Bleh, you can treat and maybe Por15 them, but some mudflaps will help keep them in better condition.
Also, anyone wanna sell some cheap ones, i need some too

Re: Repair or replace step or nerf bars?
Bob C, would it be too much bother to ask you for an update when you get something done? I've got a 2006 with slightly rusty stock chrome steps I'm trying to decide courses of action for.
Rhino-blasting them seems cheapest (the home job, not from the company), and PC'ing them, from my single experience with PC'ing steel, will be close to the price of replacing.
Not sure how much work it is to strip the chrome off the bars to have them redone.

Right now I'm headed toward just replacing them with after market step bars, for $107 dollars, I can afford to replace them every two years. 2nd choice is just grinding the rust off and using Rustolem bed liner spray,if it lasts 2 years, a even cheaper alternative. I'll post my choice and pictures after I make my choice and you can find it in your posts.
