No an 04 hood wont work on a 99.

98-03 are all interchangeable.

Then how are these people doing 04+ front end swaps? Since you have to use the hood. I'm not just swapping hoods, swapping the header,grille etc. too. Just want to make sure I don't need to take anything else for the hood too.

That was your question..and in that post u asked if it would be a straight up swap to your 1999....you didnt mention doing anything else.
U will need all the front end stuff, fenders, core support, etc..


The easiest swap for a 98-00 is swapping to the 01-03 front...

Let me be more clear here..... When I do the swap, do I only need the hood, or do I need the things the hood bolts to also? And can I re use the good latch that's already on my truck? Or do I need the one off the 04? And correct me if I'm wrong but we don't need the core support fenders to do this swap, just the header panel and hood

It's this comment in particular I'm questioning. I don't want to get everything only to find out I can't bolt the hood on. Sorry I've been pre occupied and can't make any sense on my phone apparently haha.

Ok if u want to convert your 99 to the 04 u will need fenders, hood, grille and header panel, lights and light mount brackets, and hood and all its brackets.

If u have a donor truck u can get everything off it..

There is a post earlier in this thread with a. 04 swap and it looks like 98-00 fenders? What's the difference in the fenders I thought 98-12 were all basically the same thing

You do not need new fenders. Lights didn't change 01+ The only thing that changed were the marker lights but even those mount the same. Hood, grille, header panel, any lights from 01+ will work, and then all the misc fasteners.

And as far as the hood goes I did some digging and found that the drivers side hood hinge was different. So anyone that swapped to 04+ please chime in please. Thanks everyone

Ya I believe the hinges are both from the same side. Either both passenger or both driver. Can't recall

correct, you have to change one hinge, normally done as the drivers side.

Can anyone help me with what brackets I need for an 06+ bumper on my 99? I bought a new upper and lower valance, but I've got no idea what holds it to the truck lol

Its elementary my dear Watson. Bolts do. Either 4 or 6 have yet to take off the rangie bumpers. You need pics?

2006+ bumpers are a multi-piece bumper. What you're looking at from the outside is merely a bumper cover and a valence....what you're missing is the actual bumper structure underneath. And it's all '06-12 specific.
