If you have a 1998-2000 Ford Ranger and wanna upgrade to a newer look. This will show you what all you need.

You will need to decide what year you wanna go with. You can only mix and match on the corners. 2001-2003 grille will not work if you go with the 2004-2010 front end.

A few sources to buy the parts you need.

For the 2001-2003 Look you will need

Headlights
Corner Lights
Header panel
Grille
Hood (If you want the Fiberglass Fx4/Edge raised hood)
Headlamp Retainer (inward and outward)
Miscellaneous Fasteners

For the 2004-2010 look you will need

Hood (Have to have hood as it is different then the 2001-2003)
Headlights
Corner Lights
Header panel
Grille
Headlamp Retainer (inward and outward)
Miscellaneous Fasteners

I just saw this, I converted from my 01 non foglight bumper/valance, and replaced it with a 05 painted bumper/fog, So tell me, was I suppose to swap my bumper brackets from my original stock to the 05 front end? and why would I have to do that?

p.s maybe this is the reason my dam front end wont line up right, one side has a bigger gap between the header panel and the bumper than the other side. anyways I guess if the answer is yes, that would mean i need to buy some bumper brackets for a 01 front end and swap them over to the newer 05 front end Right?

Thank you for posting this...I must admit I was going to ask but decided to use the search button, worked this time. I plan on going to the 2001-03 from my 98. It states I will need a hood if I want the fiberglass raised blah blah...my 98 hood should still work fine ya? I kinda like the flat plain hood thats on my Splash.

To do a 01-03 swap on a 98-00, a new hood is NOT required. The hood to grille gap is a little larger if you use your stock hood and the Edge/4x4 XLT grille. Little more noticeable on light colored trucks...gap hides on dark trucks. But if you choose the 2wd XLT/XL grille, the gap is perfect as those trucks/grills used the same hood as all 98-00.

I wanna use the Edge / FX-4 Grille so I will need to find a hood i guess. not so easy to find around here but the rest is easy to find. Dunno, I will have to do it and see how my hood looks me thinks. thanks for your input!

Nice write up. Here's a couple little things you missed. If you upgrade to 04 or newer the drivers side hood hinge is different. For some reason they mad it backwards and the hood won't line up with your old hinge. The other issue is the extra turn signal bulb on the 98-00's, you either have to tape over a bulb or change the flasher and cut of the socket.

This is a great guide. Would the same apply to a 95-97?

to apply a 98+ front clip to a 93-97, you will need to swap the core support and the front fenders, and the hood latch. the rest will be how the sticky says. also, you may have to modify the bumper brackets to get them to mount.

what do i need to do a 96 - 2004 ? or should i pick a different year to convert to ? i dont want everything to look dumb with body lines and gaps not lineing up ? and is all this stuff bolt on
