westin install

So i found a westin brush guard on craigslist and bought it. the owners bought it for their daughters truck but she didn't like it so it sat in a shed for three years. its in great shape and has all the hardware. i downloaded instructions but have heard that these can be a pain to install. Anything i should know beforehand, any tips from people who already did this? i was hoping i would beable to put my skid plate back on when i was done with alittle mod here or there, would that be possible? Can i still use my tow hooks or will the guard be in the way? thanks

I have an ebay Westin knock-off that looks the same, may have differences somewhere. mine was trouble mounting to the frame because it didn't fit right. I just cranked it down as best I could and it is SOLID. Don't know about the Skid plate, but your tow hooks will do fine.

Helped install one before. Pretty simple really Need 2-3 people to do it

I would say get two, although I DID do mine myself.... wasn't the easiest thing I've done though. Maybe why I had my trouble.... also not sure if the westins are one piece, mine has bolt on headlight guards. maybe that is why i could do it by myself.
