steel bumper on non lifted 4x4?
would it look goofy?
I want mine to get lifted, this bumper, and new tires. That'd be close to $4k right there, so as sweet as it would be for that transformation I think it'd be better to break it up. I don't think I'm ready to do the lift/tires yet either, until I get out of school. So should I wait on the bumper? Think it might look funny on a non-lifted ranger with factory wheels/tires. I plan on getting it bare metal and then Line X also.
And I'm not gonna lie, its mostly gonna be a mall-crawler. Still, it's my truck. And it will get some offroad time if I have anything to say about it. so there you go.

mmmmm seabasses old truck!
dont do it unless you can pull off the look, which requires a lift and meaty tires.

Re: steel bumper on non lifted 4x4?
I would have to say lift it either body lift or suspension first then wheels/tires then the bumper. If you do the body lift you'll have to move the bumper anyway, so just throw on the new one after you get some chunky tires!

Re: steel bumper on non lifted 4x4?
That's kind of what i was thinking, and what i'll probably do. just didnt know if anyone had tried it at stock height. probably wait it out until i upgrade the rubber and lift it.
scott i'm finally gonna get a mod for YOU to copy instead of the other way around!

Now imagine it in Line X. maybe even colormatched line x, although i don't know that I can justify the extra cost.

Re: steel bumper on non lifted 4x4?

Re: steel bumper on non lifted 4x4?
LOL sorry Mike, I'm about done modding my truck. No lift for me, I'm very happy with the stance of my truck, and have no intentions of an offroad bumper...
Only things I really lack about right now is a good touchscreen head unit and putting my flowmaster on. I have wheels, tires, tint, speakers, toolbox and bedliner. So that's all I need, now its wedding time next year

yeah i know, i'm just kidding. My Ranger is going to turn into my play truck as soon as I get a new DD or a bigger truck for hauling the boat..... i'll just kind of see how it happens. don't want to plan too big and then have trouble gettin there. but I dream of multiple vehicles for specific uses..... ha.

Oh yeah well that thing is sweet especially with the warn winch in it. How much custom work is required to put that in there?
