Default Laches missing from topper

So I haven't even finished paying for it but already making plans to fix up my 96 Ranger. I now know the color is Dark Lapis Metallic and have found color matched spray paint to fix some of the scratches. Body is in pretty good shape except for the topper. The clear coat is peeling pretty bad on the top front of it but I can fix that with help from u-tube videos. The rear door works fine but is missing the latches. There are three holes and all pics I've seen on here show either one or two. What do I buy to replace what was there. Thanks for your help.

Odd that you have three holes. Maybe go to a dealer and see what they say? Looks like you may need a whole new hatch to do it right.
BTW, if you do get a new one, get one with two latches, no linkage and crap to deal with then.

Thanks, I just priced a new door and it's way out of my price range. What about putting cam locks in the outer holes and a handle in the center. Would that look totally silly? It doesn't have a third brake light, does anybody put them on the door bottom in which case I'd put side latches on?

First thing to do is find the data plate for the top and find out who the manufacturer is of the unit.

Yes, cam locks work very well, I've ordered the last 4 caps I've bought with those, instead of the center T handle thingy. I suppose a fake T handle wouldn't look that bad, but here's an idea. Go to your local big box home improvement place, and go to the electrical dept. You might be able to use a knockout plug to plug the hole.

Excellent idea Johnday. You think like I do. I just want it to look good but not spend a fortune on custom.
