I recently bought a Ford Ranger FX4 Level 2. It has a thing on the bed for a tonneau cover, but there are no brand names or markings and no serial numbers. Was the tonneau cover an option on the truck when it came out?

Not automatically or directly from the factory - however, the vast majority of dealers would be more than willing to install one if the person purchasing said vehicle wanted it.

The "Ford Accessories" division makes a killing offering generic crap like that onto almost any vehicle.
