I haven't done it, I wanted to, but then I thought about how much braking actually comes from the rear brakes and I decided it wasn't really worth it. I know for my 95 ranger, a similar year v6 Mustang disk set up would work and maybe the same for you, but I couldnt justify the money to benefit ratio.

that is true but I know rear dick brakes work a lot better then drums. converted my Cherokee to dick brakes in the rear and wanted to do the same with my bronco. I never had a chance to do that so I want to do it with my ranger. our bolt patterns are 5x4.5?

i just did my 2006 ranger. i used rear disc brakes from a mustang (1994-2004 gt or v6). very easy swap you can find the how to on here or on the rangerstation.com. i will tell you that i used explorer brake hoses and hard lines for the axle. after you bend the steel line to fit your axle it fits great and elminates a bunch of guess work on what to use for brake lines

I've seen the write up, wasn't sure if anyone else tried using different stuff. Most likely I'm going to go the Mustang route. Did you do anything with the proportioning valve?

nope. im still running the stock master cylinder and proportioning valve. the best part about the 1994-2004 mustang rear brakes is the aftermarket has what seems like an unlimited inventory of performance parts for the mustang rear brakes.
