Default rusting bed

well, after having the repair shop putting on a new pipe going into my muffler and catalytic converter.
Tires are not even 6 months old.
the mileage is around 123,xxx

I noticed the holes in the front of the bed. then found out that there was bed floor support bar rusted out and was no longer there.

is there a website to buy bed floor support bars for my ranger and bed patches? I have looked online for a few hours nothing much is coming up. would parts from a F150 Work?

Plain Steel Square Tube work?

James, welcome to FRF. You could try LMCTruck.com but I think you ar going to have to fabricate the patches out of metal.

Could take a lot of work but... If you are able to weld buy some sheet metal and rough cut it to a little larger than each hole and then weld it in. After that you could use some rustoleum over it and some duplicolor to make it fit the color of your truck. Or just use some of that bedliner spray/paint on your entire bed. Ive seen all these things work never tried myself though.

Are you wanting to keep the look of a pickup box? If your open to alternatives I'd say built a flatdeck for it or get one built. You can get some pretty nice ones now and they are not cheap but not crazy expensive either. If anything happened to my box I'd throw a flatdeck on in a heartbeat.

Well I have d
scrap metal from the siding of my barn.
I will have to pull my truck into barn to check if that spot is rust at the frame.

The flat bed is a good idea. I would have to talk it with my dad.
The main problem if the make bed frame support for a ranger. Or if the F150 or super duty would work.
I know the bed has to come off to repair the bed support. Or make the flat bed

Well I was able to pull up the drop in bedliner for the most of the steel bed is in good shape.
Looks to bed supports are going to need to be replaced. This project is on hold til February or if warmer weather, The feed back does help.

The last time I had the bed off my 2000 Ranger the bed support where the front l/s bolt goes through had rusted off where it was welded to the front of the bed. I had fabbed a new piece for the front lower section & made a new support & attached it. So far so good.
