New mod to bed, need advice
I'm in the process of gathering material to build a canoe rack for the truck. I'm going to be forced to drill 8 holes in the bedliner and bed. The 4 at the the rear are going to be pretty easy, remove taillights and gain access to inner part of steppie bed. Now the question I have is this, on the front part, near the cab, I can either go in between the bed and the cab which would call for custom brackets to hold the rails together or remove the bed and use the sides of the bed. Custom brackets are not a problem to make, but just how hard is it to remove the bed and bedliner to gain access to the gap in between the fiberglass and the sheetmetal from a truck that has never had it removed? I know it's just a few torx bits, anyone know what size? Any unknowns that I"m overlooking?
In a nut shell, remove bedliner, unbolt bed, slide bed back about 6 inches, drill holes, reassemble. Does that about cover it?

Re: New mod to bed, need advice
The factory bed liner will come out easy. You pull it up from the middle after you get the tie downs off with i believe are a T-30 and the bed bolt are a T-55. they aren't too hard to take off just be sure you have a breaker bar and do it slow or they will strip. (learned the hard way)
