Want to install some HIDs I saw on DDM Tuning.

Anyone else have a setup they like?

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT. Just want to know what I need to get .

P.S. - is purple, blue or white the whitest. I noticed they Read from 4000k to 12000k.

drop in HIDs wont give you a proper beam output. the only way to switch to HIDs properly is to retrofit a projector housing into your headlight housings.

that being said, the k rating on the bulbs is referring to colour temperature in kelvin. the lower the number the more yellow or warm the light is, as it gets higher it moves through pure white to blue and eventually to purple. this doesnt mean that a 12000k bulb will be brighter than a 3000k bulb. light output is measured in lumens, and HIDs will generate the most lumens at around 5000k which is pure white.

^^ Best color if the 4300k to 5500k. Above that visible light output goes down. Also be aware that drop in HID's can be considered a road hazard as well. You'll hear a bunch of morons bleat about how 'I aimed mine low, so everybody always gives me a thumbs up when they pass!' Not only are they wrong, they don't understand lighting.
