Default New England Cancer has struck--how to heal?

2010 plain Jane Ranger. I bought it about two years ago, nice and clean, no rust anywhere.

But now, at the bottom of the doors, and the bottom of the tailgate you can scrape bubbled rust. It has not yet spread to the front of the doors.

I'm wondering what is the best way to attack this. Sandblast/Soda blast the 2" area, then prime with zinc chromate primer and paint?

Suggestions please, or perhaps this has been discussed elsewhere.

I've seen others around with the same cancer.

Thanks

Yikes, no replies. In NH I look around and see plenty of 2008-2011 Rangers with the same sort of rust. I wonder if this is simply a regional thing. Is nobody else here having such rust problems?

I have a 2002 Ranger and the only rust starting on it so far is at the bottom of the doors. Really the only way to tackle rust for longevity is to cut out the old rusty metal, and weld in new metal. I haven't been able to tackle this issue on my rig personally; however I am aware of the route that i will need to take in order to achieve longevity in my trucks rust prevention.

With mere bubbling of the paint, personally, I would grind down the metal to where you have clean steel and patch the area, primer, and then paint.

My 2002 Ranger has zero rust. I refuse to live amongst rediculousness.

The reality about rust is, the hidden and upcoming rust you can't see (or haven't found yet) exceeds what you can see. Once rust starts and is seeded/starts in numerous places (caused by the salt bath all winter long from living in a salt belt state) then it's like a slow death with "hospital visits" (rust repair) along the way.
