New to the ford ranger
I'm looking at buying a 1999 ford ranger with 90,000 miles it's a clean one owner automatic v6 4.0. Wondering what are some thing to look for on this truck before I buy it. Heard the v6 has a timing chain vs a belt? Also what will be some good required maintenance to do before I hit the big 100k mile mark.

Well for one, the 1999 4.0 is the pushrod not the SOHC, I don't remember reading that it had the timing issue, I think it was just the 2001+ 4.0
Don't quote me on that, I don't know the real answer But I would definitely check the ball joints, do a transmission fluid flush and filter change, oil change, spark plugs and air filter, fuel filter. How's the tires?
