(i guess that is what it is) crap on the rims itself, was wondering if there was any way to refurbish them to improve the look. i dont really want to paint them black and i have rims like this...

I can't see the oxidation on the wheel from the photo, but I think distilled white vinegar will clean it up alot.

wet sand and use mothers aluminum and mag polish. Takes that stuff right on out. Your gonna have to use a lot of coats and it will take it out. I've done it to my 18 year old wheels. looks brand new.

Does it work on stock alloys ? I'm afraid to use vinegar on my alloys. I've only ever used it on aluminum.

your wheels look aluminum. But there are different grades of aluminum. This is what mine looked like. Before and after wet sanding and mothers

yeah. One day for the front. Mine were in ruff shape. Took down every little nick, and scratch, on the side you can see, the used mothers. You can see in this pic where I used the mother's. That stuff works!!

okay. Front went 150 grit where they had the damn weights sunk in. Sanded that all off. Went to 400 grit, then 600, 800, 1000, and I think 2,000grit. And back side I used sand from driveway because of how bad it was.

Then for the caps on wheels that go on a circle I popped them out and put them on drill gun and held and paper to them. Got them nice and clean! Then plenty of mothers
