Default New stubby antenna opinions?

Does anyone have any idea how this will look compared to the stock one? Or if the base will be to big or small and it'll look crappy?

Since my Ranger is blacked out more and more all the time, I keep meaning to get a little stubby black antenna but I always forget when I'm at wallyworld. I don't use FM but it will be less conspicuous than the tall silver one.

I just bought a standard length black antenna, myself I don't care for the stubbies and my understanding is they don't pick up signals as well,JMO. Remember it's your truck buy what YOU like.

Cut your stock antenna to the height you want. Paint it black. Knock the little ball off and reattach it. Done.

I actually ordered a legit "the stubby antenna" it fit well and I honestly feel like it picks up better reception considering I live in the middle of no where. I'm pretty happy with it

This. I did the same thing but made it about an inch taller than the roof line. Its kinda like my clearance marker.

An "off-road" antenna?

Brad I believe he is referring to one lower than the top of truck so branches do not catch it. Bob

I wanted a stubby antenna for off roading because I was always afraid of breaking the long stock one, but then after realizing I don't even use the tuner I removed it altogether and put a screw in. Now I have a 4' firestik on the rear for use with a CB off road. How ironic lol.

Spring mount helps though

That's exactly what I've been planning on doing once I get my basket.

I've had a 13" antenna on for a few months, and I have no complaints. Looks good, I get all my usual stations, and I don't catch it on the neighbors tree when I flip around to park at home.

Brand was AntennaX on Amazon, I think it was around 15-20 shipped.
