FX4 Level 2 Two Tone Color Schemes and Two Trucks
Hello eveyone,
I recently purchased a Dark Shadow Gray 2011 Ford Ranger and the previous owner wasn't exactly easy on it. It's a 4x4 without fender flares or stepbars so the lower rocker panels have a ton of rock chips on them.
This is my fifth Ranger and always wanted to have a two tone one so this is my lemons into lemonade.
Most of the FX4 Level 2 Rangers have Dark Shadow Gray as their compliment color but what colors did they compliment with DSG? Was it Tuxedo Black (UH)?
Do you think a slightly darker gray or lighter silver might look good (e.g. F-150s)? I'm open to ideas - except not really sure if I would want the bed liner material.
How did they handle painting the area between the cab and the bed? And the Doors? Can someone take some pictures to let me see?
Thanks,
Zach

rangers never had tuxedo black as a color...only black available was ebony(UA)..and ford put DSG lower on almost every 06+ FX4

You will have to take the bed off if you want to paint it properly.

You can see the grey in the pic and I think the bed is the same way.

Alright, that's what I was looking for in the pictures.
I'm not trying to make a FX4 clone, just trying to make it look good.
BTW taking off the bed...not a problem. I already had it off to clean up the frame.

Hey your truck looks awesome! I didn't even have it a week and already had the truck bed off of it. lol
When you have some time can you take some pictures of the door jambs to show how the factory handled the paint lines?

While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, generally, darker colors go down lower and they get lighter as you go up.
