Instead of adding a leaf I put heavy load shocks on the back. They double as shock absorbers and extra support for the leaf springs.

Yep. The ones I have in mind are these

The stock rear springs on our trucks is so weak, definitely definitely at least get an add a leaf.

Those are super cool. That would be perfect actually! And yeah, normally when I go camping I use a tent, or just sleep in a hammock. I love being as close to nature as possible. But, I would go crazy if I had to keep everything in my truck and constantly set up and tear down a tent. A camper allows for a bit more space. I wouldn't spend much time in it though. I really just want to get out west, so I also applied at a couple of dude ranches and state parks... This is my backup plan. I need to get OUT. Haha!

Re: Towing a Travel Trailer?
Pop up truck bed campers are awesome, wish I still had my 68 ford that an Alaskan popup. And out west is awesome if you like scenery like this.

That's cool. This is the Pinnacle Overlook in Lancaster, our kinda scenery is a lot more hilly. You can't see very far, still pretty but I'm starting to feel squished. Haha

Yeah dude, west is the best. I'm from the east too and prepared for a while to move out here. Took my dog and my things last summer and moved away for good. So glad I did it. I've driven across the us three times and across Canada twice.

That looks really nice, I like scenery like that. Where I live we have a lot of hilly terrain with the cascade mountains to the east, but I'm in an area called the willamette valley so where I'm at is more flat.

Beautiful!!
Also, super exciting update. I applied to a couple of guest ranches and got hired as the assistant cook at one of them. So, if all goes well I'll be moving to the San Juan Mountains area of Colorado, at least for the summer. So. Stoked.

X2 west is the best, very nice out here, for example here is pre 1980 mount st Helens as seen from spirit lake.

Like in the Wolfcreek area? Friggen gorgeous area. A little remote, and gets dumped on snow wise, but beautiful!
