How did you mount your pods ? and are they flush and do they shake when you're going down the road

I just got light pods for my 98. How did you wire yours? And do you think that the grill is strong enough to hold them if I drilled into it to mount them?

I wouldn't drill into the grille, they will be shaky. I'd definitely find somewhere else to put them (between tow hooks, in fog light holes in valence, etc.)

I just tapped into my bars wiring to keep it all one switch, just bumped the fuse and switch amp up a bit.

Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00KYD...ywords=shanren

It's just a cheap China bar. But it's bright and no moisture has gotten in it. So I'm pleased with it.

Okay thank you. But how did you wire the bar? Did you run wires or is there a wire already there for fog lights?

I ran wires because I've got factory fog lights. I added an aftermarket switch for my bar and pods.

2006_FX4 - I did some research, looked/poked around my Ranger on a rare warm February day and I believe mine would be the same exact setup. I see what you mean by having the whittle the plastic center brace. There seems to be a little less than 2" of clearance as is.

My next question is, was there a reason why you purchased this length lightbar? Was it just the most economical for the length of lightbar? I'd like to see if I can get a light that spans almost the full length of the grill... which I forgot the write down the measurements but I believe was somewhere around 30".

I got that one because it was cheap, had adjustable mounting points and it fit inside the grille slat really well. I think with the 30" you will lose some light on either side of the grille.

Do you think I would even with my lame honeycomb grill?

I see what you're saying with yours since you have those 2 plastic "columns" before it has the honeycomb pattern on either side.

I've seen people put light pods or the halogen round ones behind their honey comb grills and it looked pretty nice.

I have some trim pieces to fab where I cut the grille out and I need to re aim them but it is in.
Makes the factory lights look like a candle.
