Aluminum grill inserts
So, I made some grill inserts with some aluminum I had. I like how they turned out, but are they too plain? Any suggestions on how to make them a little "fancier"? And before anyone says it, they are not fit to the grill so it still gets plenty of air flow.

Re: Aluminum grill inserts
I mean that's nice and all, but now there's now air to pass over the radiator and into the engine bay.....

Re: Aluminum grill inserts
I think it would be cool if you added an led bar into the grill

looks good. How did you mount them? I've been thinking about doing this lately to kill some time. I haven't done a mod in a while haha, too damn cold

They are made from 'L' stock, so it bends back at the top of each insert and is bolted to the inside top of each grill area.

its hard to see from the pictures, but there are very large gaps around the inserts, as they sit forward of the grill, so I have no doubt that it still gets PLENTY of air. I had a piece of cardboard left in front of my radiator for a month before, I had forgotten to take it out after a project and I never had an overheating issue.

not sure how exactly you're meaning? but I was thinking of adding some LEDs behind the inserts for some backlighting around the inserts.

Re: Aluminum grill inserts
So, incase anyone is still questioning my inserts. First I took them out and polished them, I think they look better. But most importantly as I was putting them back in I noticed that only 1/3 to 1/2 of the radiator gets air through the grill, most of the air comes in through the bumper, so the radiator and engine probably doesnt even notice the "reduced" air flow. It still gets TONS of fresh cool air.
