Blew out the piston's on the front brakes maybe?

Did u check to see how much fluid you have?

Did u even look at the front brakes to see if they were leaking?

My truck kind of had the same problem I was sittin in line at a drive threw and I heard a woosh and my truck started to roll backwards i had to put the pedal to the floor for her to stop when I got home did a quick look around and found that the softline coming off the frame hardline to the rearend had blown out so i'm with STL check for leaks in the soft lines

When you say "a burn out" and your brakes are acting up now i could assume you mean a brake stand,If i am right that puts a butt load of pressure on your brakes.Power brakes more than likely? and finnaly does this whoosh sound like air rushing? my guess is you have blown a line to your master cylinder.I believe the power is gotten from vacum which gives the pedal more power per pound applied and that would makes sense with the noise i am thinking.

i said gotten... lmao

i checked the front brakes, but didn't see any sign's of leakage, the trucks hot right now and im gonna let it cool off a little before i really go poking around, dont feel like getting burned, that might just be enough to push it off a cliff >_< lol

I had that type of probablem on a 86 grand fury and it was because my master cylinder went. I dont know how to check that but i know thats what i paid to have fixed.

yeah the sound is a sound of air rushing, and no i dont mean brake stand, i let off the brakes completely and let the engine and clutch do all the work, so im a bit at a loss for how the brakes could be affected by it, unless the vaccuum line for the power brake assist came undone, but i dont even know where to look for that

Is it a 2.3 engine? The vacume assit on my 94 it comes from my upper intakemanifold and plugs right into the master cylinder I can take a pic if need be

I have no idea.... I'm gonna call it a day and work on it next weekend, better to calm down and address it with a clear head than to go at it frustrated and possiblyake a
small problem a big problem

Is the brake pedal hard or is it spongy and go to the floor. If it is hard, my bet is that you lost your power brakes which is vacuum assisted. This is the vacuum booster line that you should check if it got disconnected.

ok, so i put a new power booster in, and that fixed the problem, for about a month, now it's back in full force, power brakes are COMPLETELY gone, the pedal now needs to go completely to to the floor for me to get any stopping power out of it, my concern in, this is something that happens right away, i drove it this morning it was completely fine, jumped into it this afternoon, no power brakes at all... i pulled the vacuum line to check the gusset around the plastic connection and it reeks of gas... i dont think this is normal, could this be whats casuing me to burn through boosters? this will be the second one i've replaced in 2 months

my thought is, that by changing the booster, im just bandaiding a bigger problem, any thoughts on this?
