Default What type of lift should i go with?

Have a 2002 Ranger with the off FX4 off road package. I would like to put an additional 3 " body lift or go with the 2" rear/3" front lift containing the keys. I am doing this because I want to fit 33" tires and I like the look of the truck lifted. I do not know which one is better and easier to install. Does anyone have some good advice on which one is better? Thank you.

If you want 3" then body lift... keys cause all sorts of problems when used to lift

Go with a 3 inch body and if you want, crack your stock keys a little. Waste of money for keys.

if I go with the body lift, should I torque up the torsion bar to level the truck out? Also.... Do you have to add the extender to the shifter rod?

You do have to extend. And I would. My back was higher then the front for a year or so and then I cracked the bars and much happier with how it looks.

thanks for the input, I cranked up my torsion bars about 6 turns and I'm still short on the front by about an inch. The back is 35 inches off the ground and the front is 34 off the ground. Is there a such thing as cranking on the torsion bar too much. How many turns is too much?

That's for you to decide lol. The ride will get stiffer the more you crank. Idk how many turns but I had to do mind more than that to get level. Depends which bars you have. I'd keep cranking until it's level. Drive it before you measure because it will settle. Be sure to get an alignment. May need new camber bolts. Stock doesn't adjust much if at all

36 on both ends will do it, so crank the front and put blocks under the springs in the rear.
No body lift needed.
