Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
You want to retrofit cubes into the fog light itself or just put some in where the fog light housing goes?

Something I've kicked around for a while myself.

Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
Rigid Dually Spot Lamps:
1. Remove fog lamps (three nuts on the back side, unnplug the connector).
2. Drill a small hole on the bottom side of the fog lamp hole in the valance.
3. Bolt-in the Rigid Dually lamps.
4. Trim a small 'key' off the rigid pigtail connector (coming from the lamp) and connect to factory fog lamp connector.
5. zip tie the connector/wires to secure.
They use less current than the original fog lamps so the factory wiring/switch is ok.
YMMV - not sure if they've changed the connector... And I think you have a different valance then my 2011...

Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
Richard; Maybe a dumb question, but are your original fogs square or round?

Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
How is the light output? Was in the middle of a projector retrofit but I might go with these if they are just as bright, but using the driving style D2 series.

My original fog lamps were round. I found them useless as they just spread light at a wide angle. The Rigid Dually spot lamps throw a narrow beam out far - where I'm looking when driving. Only really use them on unlit country roads/highways.

Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
Crap, that's what I thought. The '04's and a couple other years have the square ones. It might make it that much easier of an install. Ya, I've been chastised on here for it, but I think the fogs are useless as well, other than decoration.

Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
There was someone else on here with a write-up and photos of Rigid duallys in a square-fog valance...
Ahhh here it is: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/vehic...ext-trick.html
But just like my original thread, the photos are gone. Maybe PM 2004xlmiller ?

My '07 has square ones. Lemme see if I have a pic...
Here ya go
And I agree, they are worthless other than the truck looks better with them on. I have my retrofitted projector headlights coming, and I am not sure what I want to do with the fogs. This would be a good option. Right now the truck really doesn't put out enough light, but with HID's and this I would be doing much better.

Re: Coverting fog lights to LED cubes
Richard, do you happen to have any pictures of the wiring on your truck? Also how long did the install take you? Thanks
