Default Tailgate Logo Modifications

Hey all,

Looking to kind of follow the sticky guide for updating the front end, but I noticed not a lot of people were looking to modify the back end, more specifically the Ford logo on the tailgate.

I have a 2000 Ranger XLT, I really like the look of the 2006+ tailgates with that big logo in the middle.

Is it easy to drill holes to put on the large Ford logo?

Or would it be easier to just swap for a different tailgate?
(Really would prefer not to, have spray-on bed liner on the tailgate too)

I put mine on the right, and used only 3M double sided tape so I wouldn't have to drill holes.

Is the stock logo in the bottom right corner taped on or is there holes underneath it? I'm interested in this mod.

Oh okay! Thanks! And that will remove the need for holes right?

There are holes under the Ford oval, or at least on mine there were.

So when you put the newer larger oval on with the 3M tape, it will cover up the holes.

There's holes under the ford logo. If you want to do the mod you will have to fill the holes. Or find a mazda tailgate. They don't have holes. If you put the big logo in the middle you don't have to drill holes. Just cut the prongs off the back of them emblem and file it flat, then put double sided 3m tape on it and put it on. Just make sure it's straight.

Okay cool. How or what would you use to fill the holes on the tailgate?

That's what I was going to suggest. That's how I would do it
