1997 Cab on a 2000 Frame?

Hey fellas, you may not know this, but on Thursday, I wrecked my Ranger. I'm fine and so is the other driver, but the truck is severely damaged. The right side of the cab is bent up pretty bad, I'll attach pictures and you'll be able to see the full extent. At the shop where I had it taken, a shop who's owner my family is good friends with, is a 1997 that we want to use as a donor for the parts that were damaged. My problem is that we're all unsure a '97 cab can go on a 2000 frame. I googled it and saw over at The Ranger Station that someone did a 2000 cab on a '97 frame. And someone here did a '02 to '02 swap. So my question is: Can it be done? If not, our other options are get a 2000 cab from a parts place, or (my least favorite option) pull out the engine and scrap the rest of the truck. Please help!

Oh man I'm sorry to hear about that. I think I read that the frame never really changed much so I would guess it would.

uh youre gonna need a lot more than a cab dude...that frame is trashed as well

We checked the frame, its mostly intact. The Right Control arm is broken, but the axle seemed intact.

intact doesnt mean shit...i can bet you that frame has some serious sway in the front end

IMO scrap the truck...its not worth the work...you would need to Frankenstein a truck together...frame from one and cab from the other

Just looking at the pictures your bed is twisted meaning your frame is done.

Might have just broke loose of the mount, outlooks like it's resting on the cab

The problem is that it would be more expensive to buy a replacement car than it would be to buy a replacement cab. Also the guy who owns the shop races and fixes race cars, so he knows what to do.
