Problem with 06 tail light install?
Being new to ranger mods I have read the 06 tail light swap alot and everyone says its a drop in for 01 so I just got mine and super excited to get them in after I saw them in person!! Dam sexy...
However first one is in but is it normal to have thus gap? Thats the rubber seal. I can see why tho the edge of the housing isnt allowing it to sit in further...anyone else run into this?

Would it maybe be good to run bead of clear silicon?

I have heard the non oem lights sometimes leave that gap there. Some kind of sealant might not be a bad idea if you can't get it to push in correctly.

why? from that point, water cant get into the light, only into the inside of the fender to drip to the ground. the light seals where the bulb sockets are. siliconing that will just leave you with a mess next time you change your brake light bulbs. tighten it, leave it. its fine, mine arent oem and look the same.

Re: Problem with 06 tail light install?
Good point miller, I realized the bulbs are sealed anyways plus the factory ones had a gap to.
Just waiting for buggman to send me his led backup bulbs and a red brake light strip to go under the tailgate.

Ok. I just had a set that leaked real bad and got moisture in them, but if they are fine then it's a good deal.

That was the problem. You could put a line of silicone on that though right? Just in case?
