Default Heated exterior side mirrors??

Is there a such thing as OEM heated exterior power mirrors for a 2005 Ford Ranger XLT?

I have been looking around but cannot find any; and winter...well it's not right around the corner, but do want them. Clues anyone?

Next questions are:

1. If heated mirrors are available, is it possible to put heated exterior power mirrors onto a 2005 Ford Ranger XLT? If yes, where can I find them?

2. I am also looking into getting a remote starter put in. Is there a way to tie in the mirrors so that when I start the truck they will be on and heating up? Perhaps that will just be a toggle switch to leave on just like the heater?

Thanks,

-fryer

Muth makes heated signal mirrors. I just put a set on my 2011.

x2 on this.

Just to clarify - they sell the glass & related components - but you have to use your OEM mirror housing still.

Not cheap though...

I purchased the signal mirror glass ($202.74) for when I get off my butt & install the 06+ mirrors.

I didn't go heated, because I can't stand non-factory switches & didn't want the hassle to install one anymore - but the option from Muth is there.

Most modern remote start units will have a dedicated output for a 'rear defrost' circuit.

Over the years, my work rigs (SUV's) have all had an aftermarket remote starters installed that when below freezing will activate the rear defrost (and heated mirror circuit) automatically. If you're having the system installed - make sure to stress you want this feature connected. Some of the 'big box' stores don't want to install everything that's possible. Knowledge of the remote starters capabilities are key here.

Should be able to utilize that for an aftermarket heater mirror kit as well.

I went all last winter and the one before without the heated mirrors, thought it was going to be horrible but turns out they done ice up or collect snow, I only had one time I really would have used them. Signal mirrors on the other hand would be amazing! I think that's the next mod I want to do to my 08,

My son got me mine for Christmas. I looked on line where he got them after I installed them and he paid far less than the prices on Muth's website.

That $199 is not per side...that's the full 'kit' price.

Still pricy - but not as must as you listed! haha

Finally was able to buy my heated exterior mirrors for $134.62 at USAutoParts.net. The total was with a 5% web coupon: welcome5 if anyone is interested in buying some for their truck.

Take it easy,

Okay... I realize this post is old... but my finances are slow and on top of that when I finally got a friend to take a look at the installation of these things I realized after calling MUTH that I still needed another $70.00 part that goes with it.

Anyways... Finally got around to getting that part and the switch...

Can anyone post photos where they installed their switch/rocker switch or can anyone recommend where to install the switch?

Thanks,
fryer
