Default Changing grille

So I want to change the grille on my 95. I'm leaning towards either all chrome stock, or a Street Scene diamond mesh. Opinions?

(I've already ruled out a billet grille out and I'm not color matching it to the body)

I prefer the chrome look. It's subtle but you know its there.

Yeah, I'm leaning slightly that way; going with a chrome grille and a chrome bumper with a black strip on it might work. idk.
Thanks.

I like the mesh look or color matching (a couple cans of color match paint from the auto parts store & a few hours work would make a huge difference )

That much chrome finish would be a pain to keep clean

It's not as bad as you'd think. My grille is all chrome but it doesn't get too messed up.

Yeah, it's a tough call. They both look pretty good on a gen 3 front end. Hmmm.

I must admit, that's pretty darn nice. Where'd the letters come from? I also like how he/she mounted the lights.

I like how the outline of the old grill is still there. Looks good recessed in.

Nice job buggman! You are the king of mods lol

Thanks,
That's my first attempt at modding a grille. It's a few years old now & one of these days I'm gonna do another/better one.

I cut the old grille leaving a lip around the inside area that I filled in & shaped to match the contour of the opening. That allowed me to mount the mesh to the back side to recess it.

My hella 500ff's are mounted in the old license plate bolt holes that I enlarged. They were on the tabs just below the grille but they blocked the letters so I moved them down there. Haven't seen too many mounted that way & I like being different

Didn't realize it was your truck. Very nice work. So I take it the mesh was not pre-made?

Nah, it comes in a large sheet & I cut it oversized & bend the perimeter up 90* to give more stability.
It's actually pretty sturdy & has held up well.

Google "Street Scene Grille" and many places carry it for 93-97 Rangers. Pricey though. They also have do-it-yourself mesh grille kits on Amazon.

Think I've decided to go all chrome stock grille because I found a sweet deal with a coupon I had. Can always switch out to a fabbed/modded mesh-style at a later date, or plasti-dip it black.
I know I lot of guys on here don't like chrome, but I think it's good in healthy amounts. Should contrast nicely with the gold paint.
