Extended cab windows
Before I start searching I thought someone here might know; what are the windows called on the sides behind the front windows in the extended cab?
Can you buy replacements that swing open like a wing window used to?
I was going to get an opening rear window and may still but realized it will be hard to reach when belted in so was thinking about options. Ideas?

Re: Extended cab windows
Never even considered the slider an issue with the belt on. Unless you have unusually short arms I would just get the slider. If its even possible to put the side vent windows in you would need new interior panels as well I believe to fit the hinges it just not be worth it.

Re: Extended cab windows
They use to have them open a few inches on the 2 door extended cab in the 90s. they stopped putting them in though. may be able to find one in the jy and switch them out. not entirely sure what i would all entail though.

He mentioned he was looking at the rear slider as well.

Re: Extended cab windows
ok so since i read it all the way through this time...you may have to twist to reach the slider or just recline and do it real quick at a stop, but you should be fine.

Re: Extended cab windows
I guess I could go either way, but my old ass has a hard time reaching the back window in the extended cab. Maybe I could even get an electric rear window but what are those little windows on the side called in the parts book? I don't even know what to search for.

Re: Extended cab windows
Rear vent windows? I doubt you will find it in a parts catalog, they have not been equipped on the ranger in while and you look like you have a pretty new truck. I believe you will have a harder time trying to reach vent windows from the driver seat than you will with the rear slider. I remembered the vents being nice in my F150 but they were a pain plus i always forgot to close them. I would go with the slider.

Re: Extended cab windows
I'd still look for the rear side windows at a junkyard or something. I've been thinking of this as well because i have a rear slider but wish I had the others as well. I can somewhat reach the slider with my long monkey arms but i could see how it could be hard for some as it does hurt my shoulder to do so. I feel like the side windows do a better job of keeping the wind out of your face when the front windows are down then the center rear slider does but they allow for some fresh air to mix in at the same time. Their also a lot harder to get to then a rear slider is though.
