Default Brake Pads

Hey I am changing out my front brake pads on a v-6 3.0 liter ranger. Wondering if I need to rotate or mess with the rotors at all?

are they warped?
also no clue what year your truck is.
on my 94 i would take the opportunity to re pack the bearings.

also i think you mean to say Turn (as in cut) not rotate.

if they are warped then replace them or have them cut .

they are not warped and I meant to say turn and cut them. Just didn't know how often to turn them. Also, when I brake I hear squeaking- didn't know if that is an indicator of something.

Go to quick links and then edit signature. creat a detailed sig. of your truck, location year, engine, tranny, cab, mileage, 4wd, AC etc. then we can give you proper advice.

fyi: you do not rotate(the way you rotate tires) brake rotors!

Squeaking means replace :-) even though I paid $600 for a brake job last month and they're already squeaking.

You can be a tight ass and not turn your rotors, and you get what you paid for. Or you can turn them, the new pads break in to the freshly turned rotors, they stop better and you get what you paid for. Is $30 to turn two rotors and get really all that much of a deal breaker when it comes to brakes? We're talking brakes, not the cig lighter.

*This is the first time in my entire life I have ever heard of anyone talk about "rotating" rotors, and probably for good reason.

Why was it $600? Was it front and rears?
