Default Question about Tailgate Nets

I'm looking for a tailgate net for my 2011 Ranger. I've found nets on-line ranging from $20 (Bully) to $60 (Pro Net) and several in between. Having never bought a net I'm not sure what the difference is.

Any advice/input will be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Question is, why do you want a tailgate net?

They do nothing to increase mpg. If they did they would come installed from the factory. Tailgate is actually a key structure piece to the box.

X2

Its aerodynamics:

Ignore the muthbusters part, but the physics behind it are sound.

Also removing the tailgate causes the bed walls to 'collapse' inwards after a period of time. Its only sheet metal, the gate is a key part of the beds structural integrity.

I know this is old but I didn't want to start a new thread. Would having a tool box bolted across to both bedsides help stable the bedsides with the tailgate replaced with a net?

Only if you put it at the wrong end of the bed.
