Will a bed cover fit on my truck with a bed liner? I have a 97 with the 6 ft bed

You can still put a cover on it but it will not look as good. You will have to cut the bed liner where the clamps go. What type of cover are you looking for?

Probably a tri-fold or maybe a roll up I'm not sure. Oh and also my tailgate doesn't drop unless I put my hand behind it and give it a little motivation would that be a problem you think?

Re: Bed cover with bed liner
Your choices are limited with an over the rail liner. Probably not at all with a under rail model. As far as your tailgate issue, just make sure you can open the cover without opening the cover. My roll up cover has the release inside so it would be a problem for you. I like it because I can lock my tailgate and nothing can be opened.

Still don't see it being a issue. At lease with the tri fold.

If the liner sticks up anywhere more than rest of it (so it won't be level) it won't fit but with some trimming it will

Re: Bed cover with bed liner
I just installed a BakFlip G2 on my truck. I do have a bed liner and it goes over the top of the bed on the sides, and tailgate. BakFlip fits nicely. Got 20% off on E-Bay...

Re: Bed cover with bed liner
First hand experience here..... you won't have any problems. Whether it's a spray-in liner with over-the-rail or a stock style "drop-in" liner with over-the-rail coverage.
This coming from 3 years experience on two Ranger work trucks. One with a soft tri-fold and one with a hard tri-fold. One spray-in one drop-in.
Typically spray-in or drop-in, the liner extends over the top of the tailgate as well. Thus causing no fitment or usability issues with a tonneau.
