Default skid plates

i have a 2005 level 2. there are three skids plates. one day i noticed the middle plate became unattached at the front. the back is attatched but the front is hanging there a few inches. looking more closely i don't see where it would attach anywhere. has it always been this way and i'm crazy. or did i loose a part in a parking lot somewhere. i can take pictures if this is confusing. thanks.

I am assuming you are talking about the t-case skid. It mounts to the frame rails. Should be 4 holes on the skid and 4 corresponding holes on the frame.

Snap a pic if oyu can.

here are a few pics. one day in my usual parking spot at work was a rusty piece of something. i threw it out then noticed shortly after something didn't look right. maybe i should have kept it.

correct me if i'm wrong but that looks to be the front part of the gas tank skid plate not the t-case. lemme go look at my truck...

it seems as if it is the skid plate for the gas tank in the pics but there is a piece that has these rivot type things that also attatches the plate to the frame rail that you're pics dont have. its probably that rusted piece you threw out :/

thats what i was thinking. i got a schematic from the dealer but that part wasn't shown. anyone know the part number or where i can find it. the dealership near me is horrible. i tried auto parts stores but they said nothing was missing. frustrating

if you look closely at the picture of the whole truck. you can see where the skid plate is hanging lower right under the third door near the seam for the drivers door. hope this helps give some reference

remove that skid(that bolts or rivets to the tank straps) and go out and find yourself a 03 and older tank skid.....they bolt onto the frame and crossmembers, not the tank straps. And they are also beefier than that puney thing that came on yours stock.
