Default 1995 Ford Ranger Headlight Issues

Does anyone have any idea what the issue is? Information about the problem and vehicle listed below:

1995 Ford Ranger 2WD 2.3L Manual
Headlights (low and high beam shut off completely)
Still have parking lights

Does this vehicle operate with a Headlamp Relay? If so, where is it located?

shut off complementary all the time, do not turn on... turn off and on randomly?

I would start with the headlight switch. common to go bad, easy to replace cheep to replace.

Is that normally the issue there. Or at least the best starting point option?I've received two different pieces of advice.

1.) Relay
2.) Switch

My issue with the switch is that there is a turn knob for headlights and then an arm switch for the high beams. Both low and high beams are out which is making me think it is a relay or connection somewhere (front end frame just replaced). Also, the more I read and chat with people, the more I'm hearing that the 1995 doesn't have a relay for the headlights.

----------

The answer to your question is.. the headlights themselves do no turn on at all low beams or high.

i do not think the 95 has a relay. i would start with the switch.
But before that, check under your hood power distribution box
position L should be a 20 amp(yellow) fuse check to see if it is blown. If not check to see if you have power there on both sides. if so, i would say switch.

you said"(front end frame just replaced)" can you be more specific?>

All fuses have been looked at and replaced. My husband hit a deer.
Both front end fenders, hood, bumper, and grill system replaced. Would it most likely be the toggle switch? or the switch that turns on the headlights?

unless someone hacked up the wiring. it would be the headlight switch. they are known to go bad.

Now if the the "grill system" (think you mean front clip) was replaced THEN it quit working perhaps someone did not connect all of the electric connectors.

So in conclusion
1. if this issue started Immediately after the front end was replaced MOST likely it was not put back together correctly and all the wires need to be looked at that where affected.

2. if the lights WORKED then quit working my money would say the factory headlight switch needs replaced.

ALSO any "toggle" switches would be NON-Factory and i would have no way to know what they do.

Thank you for your help. It's been an issue. The high beams went first. The low beams went the other day. My family handles all the mechanical needs so I know everything was put back right (father engineer and brother master mechanic). I just get tired of asking them so I thought this would be the perfect place.

Ok, just trying to eliminate possibilities. If the headlight switch does not do it, perhaps the multifunction switch. as you have indicated the high beams went first.
