How do you replace a driver side mirror? I'm trying to figure out whether I can do it myself or whether I should pay someone to do it. I have looked online for video tutorials, but I have only found one for a manual mirror.

I need some help, I removed the door panel, but I found a metal area on the inside with a hole and I don't know what I need to do to get the mirror off. How do I disconnect the old mirror and then get the new mirror's wiring connected to the door controls? This is a Ford Ranger with power windows and mirrors.

with door panel off peel back the black paper stuff to access the 3 nuts... loosen the nuts using a deep socket with a small peice of gum on inside of socket so you dont lose nuts in the bottom of door... after nuts are off follow wires from mirror to a section where they are connected use a small flat screwdriver to pry the connector apart carefully pry!! somewhere along the wire it will be connected to the door by a white plastic holder pry the wire holder off with a v shaped pry tool... you can now pull old mirror off!!.. feed wire of new mirror through opening and use the socket with gum in to re-install the nuts put them all on before you tighten them down... plug in new mirror and use some black electrical tape to hold wire on white plug..make sure you dont over tighten nuts you can break them!!!
