Default Stone Guard/Mud Flaps option????

I ordered my new Ranger yesterday. I am going over the list of options available on it, it's an "XL" with 2.3, five manual, air and cruise tilt. I see listed "stone guard/mud flaps". Can I get opinions regarding functionality and appearance? Does someone have them installed who could post a photo or send me a pic? I am in snow country with salt still used in winter on our roads. <hurlbutc@rideau.net>
Thanks, Dave

I would imagine they are just plain old Mud Flaps that you see on most rangers. Ford just puts a fancy name on them. They block stuff the tire may throw at the truck that is all.

I only have them on the back in this pic

Its either these or i think they make a more plastic looking one that is not as flexible as mine and this may be reason for the word "Stone Guard" on your particular truck.
