Default a blacker black

tired of my truck being multicolored so i figure ill temporarily spray bomb it till i can afford a real paint job. was gonna go flat black but i see a lot of flat black trucks that look greyish and some have more black, and a fewer more real dark black. so anyone have any suggestions to keep it from coming out greyish? like brands, #of coats, primer and what not?

dont do it, no spray paint job will look any better than your current paint.
If anything get the dip my car kit you can remove that.

Look at this 20k truck, looks like crap.

Yeah honestly body man and painter prespective here when people spray paint there cars even for just something temporary it makes more hassle for us, I did just do a flat black paint job yesterday on a mustang the way to actually make it work and not get those blotches is spray it normal with base clear but you put flattening agent into your clear coat. You have to know how much will make certain flattnesses though the more you put in the flatter it gets but if you put in to much it will turn the clear milky and it will crack.

man that tacoma does look like shit, but the problem im having is that at somepoint in my trucks life someone spray bombed the cab, hood and front end black but left the bed factory green. idk what the hell they were thinking. was hoping to at least make it all one color. i have an automotive paint sprayer i just got to fork out the money to get some paint for it and take the time sand down and do a little dent pulling.

im not saying im a pro at spraypainting but that yota looks so bad because the guy didnt paint right. ive painted two vehicles now with spraypaint and as long as you dont just hold the nozzle down and shake the can (assuming what yota owner did) you can have a decent paint job...no where near professional but better than mismatched colors and scratches.

this is exactly what i was thinking. i dont really need a professional job but man if it was all one color it would look so much better. Pretty sure i can do a better job than that tacoma guy, i think painting everything on that truck black is where he went wrong. plus it looks like he went a lil crazy with the spray can lol

just practice alot before painting the truck. ive been spraypainting anything and everything i could find since i was like 8, im 18 now (badass right here lol). if you know what your doing and put a little extra effort into it itll turn out fine. also satin black dosnt fade as much and still has that flattish look
