I do recommend this service. He did mine, and I love them. But I wouldn't waste the $$ on OEM. Since you are going to replace the guts anyway. But talk to him and let him guide you.

Thanks for the input I've seen/heard good things!

There's a few reasons I wanted to pick up an OEM set though. Mainly because I get a little discount on them from a buddy from Ford. Secondly I'm unsure on the type or condition that're currently on the truck but they're definitely aftermarket. I'll get with the OP like you recommended though and discuss options and see what he thinks will work best. If anything I'd send the set that are on the truck (after his approval) and keep the OEM set for a rainy day. Surprisingly they're not that $$.

I was actually thinking about retrofitting some projectors in myself. Only thing I'm confused on is which bulbs to use. OEM ones are 9007, so if I were to get a d2s projector would I need an adapter? Or would a projector that says compatible with 9007 work fine?

D2S projectors will need D2S bulbs. There are no such things as a D2S to 9007 adapter. Unless you buy OEM projectors that come stock with halogen bulbs but with all the work you would put into a retrofit, you might as well buy the high quality projectors that pairs up quite nicely with high quality HID bulbs and ballasts. Never cheap out on the lights; you'll regret it in the long run (or short run) for that matter

I have a question..

93-97 Rangers Have slightly larger headlights IMO than the 98+ counterparts which look to be a little more streamlined. Although when looking at them and seeing the dual light setups, I have seen a couple 93-97 Rangers done up but tend to get a beedy-eye'd look.

Is there a slightly larger Projector beam HID assembly that can be purchased and used that I can research the aesthetics of as well the performance functionality you could recommend? I don't need to stuff a 4.5" HID in the bezel but I don't want to see a 1.5" one either. It just looks cut & pasted to me, like as if someone else didn't consider the aesthetic proportions first.

I just want a slightly larger HID Projection fixture, with a black bezel interior and a clear lens, and I'll be keeping the amber corners.

LMK your thoughts, thanks in advance.

@Undrstm8ed, you can go to theretrofitsource.com and there's actually a thing called a "dummy projector". Its $15 and can be used to mock up or to make it look like there'd be a projector there. From what Ive seen, the 2.5" or 3" ones are probably best as they aren't huge and aren't too small. They also sell those sizes with kits or alone on that website.

ordered a projector kit from retrofit source on feb 28th. It is now March 21st and it hasn't been shipped yet :/ they said my backordered items were coming in on the 5th, then they said sometime this week. Well its thursday night, and Im getting very angry and antsy.
