Stepside (splash) toolbox
Finally sold my tonneau cover on Craigslist. Looking to buy an aluminum stepside toolbox. Black or silver. Can't go with a new one, so I figured I'd check here. 97 Splash 6' bed.
Thanks!

Re: Stepside (splash) toolbox
I had one. but it's done and gone. This is gonna be an expensive mod. They are not a cheap box. i don't know why. Don't be surprised to spend atleast 200 bucks on a used one.

Re: Stepside (splash) toolbox
I know, it sucks...the limited options for stepside mods is making me want to switch to a fleetside. Or buy a fleetside 4x4 and sell mine!
Yeah, your toolbox is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. If you don't mind me asking, where'd you pick it up and how much was it?

we had to special order it from TSC and it was the DeeZee brand. And i wanna say it was over 400 bucks. And that was in 03ish? And i sold it 2 summers ago to a guy who drove like 2 hours from Michigan and he bought it for 200 i do believe. A word of advice, put an ad on craigslist saying you want one. That's how mine sold. Because i was just browsing around the one day and there was an ad where a guy was saying he wanted one. so i called him and he took it. But my advice to you is this. Just go to TSC or to the local Ford dealer, or somewhere off line and order a brand new one. It may be more expensive, but you'll have the one you want much faster without all the bull shit. Just my 2 cents.
---- EDIT: I just re read your comment. You like my current toolbox? The black diamondplate low profile one is made by UWS and i got it from my work, with my discount for like 360 bucks i do believe. it was a pretty good raping on their part, but i love it. i have very little complaints. It's big enough to fit a 2 gallon air compressor, so i'm fine with it.

Yeah, i really like the black diamond plate. I found a cheap gullwing online but I'm more into the one piece. I may actually throw an ad up on Craigslist. That's how I sold my tonneau. It's free, so it can't hurt right? I search it at least 2X a day anyway. I know my patience will eventually pay off. Either that, or I'll come into some $$ and just splurge on a new one.

Re: Stepside (splash) toolbox
yeah craigslist is free. and that's what i would do. just every couple weeks just post the same wanted ad and save 20 bucks a week to put toward the new box. and when you have enough saved up and you don't have any luck on craigslist, go get your new one.
