glad to see you're back smakes. and for that price, i'd almost update just for the hell of it. or just buy it and resell it. for 50 bucks i'd sit on it for a while to have the potential to make 150 at some point down the road..

remove the handle and weld in a filler plate then grind it smooth and do some body work on it

you can buy a kit or fab a little plate and relocate the handle to the inside of the gate

wow! hard to believe! But i have to say the pics look shady for some reason with all that wrap laying around and only the left side of the tailgate is visible in those pics. If its brand new and he want to sell it why wouldn't he take some decent pics. I might be completely off but it wouldn't be the first bait and switch on clist lol

^^^^which is why I had this latch on my tailgate that was secured with a special bit...which I now realize I left the latch on the truck when I sold it and without the special bit. Hopefully the new owner doesn't need to take that off...
EDIT: found what i had:

guess it just uses a torx bit, but it is threaded on there it felt like 100 times.
