If you mess up the mod, you're getting new headlights anyway. If you do the mod and it turns out good you saved $120 bucks. The mod costs roughly $15 at most (paint, sandpaper, razorblade, etc.). That's the theory I had going into doing the mod for myself. And it turned out great. I think you should try it first. You'll just have dumb-looking headlights for a few days at worst.

Deends where you live. If its not legal where u live you may want to keep your old ones.
I put them on my truck and love em.
Would reccomend an upgrade to the bulbs. I run 6000k hid and its great.
Only reason i didnt do the mod to my heads is the same as the tails - I just think over time it will fade and peel and look like shit. For 100 my truck now has a quality lasting headlight.

Painting the inside of the headlight and not altering the reflection isn't illegal.

this is one of the easiest mods out there. u bake it pry it paint it and seal it. a monkey could do it...
and as for it peeling, its not open to the elements so it wont. ive had mine painted for almost a year now and they still look exactly the same

If you do the mod on here then no, but if you are going for the smoked look like some poeple want then you want the hole headlight smoked.
Have seen people with civics and such paint em and later find out it wasnt legal - Toronto
Everyone has their own opinion but I just see too many of the modded heads, or aftermarkets like em...

Never done that to any I have done. I always spray adhesion promoter before.

Scuffing the surface negates that step (and vice-versa), but they both do the same thing. I used sandpaper cause I had some already and didn't want to paint straight on that smooth surface and risk it not sticking very good.
