2001 and newer style headlights that have been opened
I want to buy headlights that have been opened. I'm looking for a pair to do HID/Projector/LED retrofit work on. I need them already opened. PM me or just respond here.
I will pay for all the parts, you just open them successfully for me.

opening them blows. Its nearly impossible not to mangle the edges with whatever you are using to pry them apart, and this is after 45 minutes of stop and go heating in the oven. Took me 2 hrs to crack mine open, and the edges looked like junk. Luckily you dont see the edges even so i dont care.

it takes practice I'm sure - as some have been very successful at it. That's why I'm willing to pay someone who is skilled at it.

yeah, that is a good point. Anyone who knows how to seperate them just right could make a killing doing that, because after doing it, id pay to never have to do it again.
Good luck Jp7

Maybe you would like to do one set for me and I'll give you my extra brand new 2011 F150 rear view mirror with LCD screen reverse camera and auto dimming.

Re: 2001 and newer style headlights that have been opened
Ok - I just sucessfully opened my Stock Visteon 2004 headlights, but I still need another set for another truck. Opened or not, I'm willing to buy a set of headlights that are in GOOD shape.

Re: 2001 and newer style headlights that have been opened
Question - about open close - what is an open headlight and what is a closed headlight?
Why does one wish to open a headlight and why is it difficult? Don't they sell them bothways and if not why not?

what we are talking about is taking a stock headlight, and seperating (opening) it into two parts, the lens and the housing. It is a mod that can allow you to paint the housing (commonly black) or in this case, allow JP7 to introduce an LED system. Open and closed means seperated or non seperated. It is difficult because the plastics are fragile, and the glue is tough. You have to carefully heat the headlight(s), and pry them apart, without cracking the lens. They are only sold not seperated. Hope this helps...

Re: 2001 and newer style headlights that have been opened
I just bought a second set of headlights. I am only interested in headlights that are in great shape, and OEM, not aftermarket. I might be buying more to do projector retrofits. I will message those that respond to this thread if additional headlights are needed. Thank you.

I can open the headlights now, i had success yesterday. It's corners I'm going to be worried about - I'm forced to using aftermarket ones for this project.
