Front end lower deflector OEM part # xl2z-8310-aa

2005 Ford Ranger Xtra cab 4x4.

Does anyone have a source for a metal or aluminum replacement for this part?

xl2z-8310-aa

Or is everyone just running without it?

Same stuff the truck tool boxes are made of. Seen a lot of jeep guys make skid plates and rock sliders out of the diamond tread aluminum to save weight.

Is that what you are asking?

Well no.. in actuality I was giving you some shit in a positive aspect by saying aluminum was still "metal" other than being an alloy.

But since you brought it up, I work with companies like Demello who offer Wincher bumpers for the Tacoma's for example. The aluminum argument always arises. Aluminum bumpers work great for reducing weight but unlike their steel counterparts, really lack in strength for helping others without seeing effects over time. Their ok for self-rescue but not so much for pulling others out, especially deep recoveries.

More than my shared opinion, thats a manufactures stated comment.
