Default Looking To Change My Gear Ratio.. Please Give Feed Back

Hello all,

I own a 2004 Ranger Edge that currently has Falken 32x10.50/15. I recently have replaced the transmission with a new/remanufactured transmission from Ford. I want to preserve my transmission as much as possible, so I'm thinking changing my gear ratio with the current tires and stock transmission I have on the truck now. Is anyone else running bigger tires on their Ranger and if so, what gearing would you recommend ? Any info would help, thank you in advance.

3.73 is about as low as the recommendation goes for 32s. I have 31.6s with 3.73 gears and my RPMs aren't high enough in 4th or 5th for going up any kind of incline unless I'm going 20MPH over the speed limit. Really depends on your driving terrain for what would be BEST.

What gear ratio do you have now? 3.73 or 4.10 should be OK for a 32" tire. 4.10s are probably gonna be a better ratio, but it's not really worth the effort and money to swap from 3.73s to 4.10s if you're only gonna run 32s. If you have a higher ratio, like 3.55, then it might be worth it to regear.

He probably already has 4.10s or 3.73 since it's 4x4. In short, I wouldn't change anything. Keep in mind, having a 4x4 regeared would run about 2k at a shop once you factor in parts and labor.
