For Sale: Advantage Hard Hat Tonneau (Indianapolis area)

FOR SALE: A Torza "Hard Hat" Premium Tonneau Cover, by Advantage Truck Accessories, for a standard (6') bed Ford Ranger.

I just traded my 2011 Ranger XLT (17,700 miles) in for a new Explorer, and have taken off many of the upgrades and accessories I had put on it (see my threads in the other sections of the classifieds).

I put this tonneau cover on shortly after getting the Ranger in early 2012. It is Advantage Truck Accessories, Torza, Premium "Hard Hat" tonneau. The Hard Hat is a tri-fold design with a cloth cover, and thick, rigid panels underneath. When combined with a locking tailgate handle (NOT INCLUDED) it turns your truck's bed into secure storage, as ne'er-do-wells can not simply cut through the fabric with a pocket knife to gain access. The folded panels strap together so you can drive with the two rear panels folded on top of the forward one if you need to carry something tall in the bed. It can be completely removed in less than a minute.

This one is the "premium" Hard Hat as the cloth used to cover it is a heavy convertible top, canvas cloth, instead of plain old vinyl. It is very tough, and looks classy.

The cover is in very good shape with no cuts or tears, or wear around the fabric edges. While relatively clean, it could use a going-over with warm water and a soft brush. The structure is near perfect. The weather stripping (~$19 at Autozone) could stand to be replaced, However what is on there will get you down the road for a while.

Like most tonneaus, this cover is weather RESISTANT, not "weather proof". Even when brand new, a little water would sometimes seep in at the sides when driving in a hard rain. Still, I kept a lot of gear and luggage secure and dry under it while on trips.

As this piece is heavy and oversized, it is a LOCAL SALE only, in the Indianapolis, IN area. Shipping it would be prohibitively expensive, and would risk damage since the original shipping box is long gone. I will deliver it within a reasonable distance of Indy's NW suburbs.

It was $675 new.

I am asking $300 for it.

I would buy it, but I dont have 300$ right now. So I will check later in the year and see if its still for sale here in the forums
