This is probably a long shot (and probably needs to be in the classifieds section, but I didn't see a prefix option for "trade") but is anyone interested, or know someone who might be interested is trading their black(or paintable) front and rear bumpers for chrome ones?

2001 Ranger Flareside bumpers, chrome, no blemishes or dents/dings.

I'm a bit of an oddball I guess, in that I REALLY don't like chrome. I'll probably go ahead and spend the money to replace them eventually but I figured this way might save myself and someone else some $$$$ and keep these perfectly fine bumpers from going to waste sitting in my garage. I'm in Tahlequah, Oklahoma but am willing to ship. (s&h is still cheaper than new bumpers )

I'd have to sell them for more than it would be worth to you, cause I would need to replace the bumper so Campus Cops didn't harass me constantly...

If I can ever come up with the $400 LMC wants for the primer bumper, and your still in need, I'll let you have it for the cost of shipping. But I'm making minimum wage and have a family to support, so I wouldn't hold my breathe or anything.

I do plan to go by a couple local scrapyards to see what they have, I'll keep my eyes open for you and let you know if I find anything.

Just keep them. Your original chrome bumpers can be painted no problem. If prepet properly. Just use some elbow grease and and take your time. And they will turn out great. Been there done it and they turned out great couldn't till it wasn't factory. And have stood up great for the last 8 years.

I'll see what postage would be like tomorrow while I'm out, but I don't think your truck and mine are compatible if memory serves me correctly.

I think I'll probably end up taking nightmare's advice and try doing it myself.

I looked it up man, looks like 00-05 and 06-10 have different bumpers. Mine isn't nearly big enough for you to use. Sorry man... I wonder why the 06 didn't get chrome, woulda looked nice with that big chrome grill.

don't matter anyway...steppie and styleside bumpers don't interchange. So you're stuck to trading with another steppie/stepside/flareside. Can't trade with a normal bed guy.

so the 06+ have different mounting points for the front bumper? that doesn't make any sense. I know ive seen 06+ trucks with 04-05 bumpers on them. I thought the front mounting poits ahve been the same for years. im confused I can understand the back bumper thing. no big deal

Don't know about the mounting points, but it looks like they should be the same since 06+ get the same bumper on STX package models. (Based on what the LMC catalog says anyways...) I thought the grill on the 06+ came down further than the 01 and therefore the bumper needed to be shaped different, but that must not be the case. Maybe someone familiar with the STX models can elaborate?

This is an 04 model with 01-03 bumper and 06+ grille. and yeah i can put an 04-05 grille on mine as well. I think its all the same for the front, just the rear will be different because you have a steppie

i ,ve repaired lots of rangers and the front bumpers mounting points are the same from 98 up till current . front bumpers will interchange , stepside and standard bumpers will interchange allthough are different widths. but mounting points are the same . i would trade as i have a stepside im working on right now but im in cali.

I would also trade my chrome bumpers, no dents dings nothing.

2001 XLT Step-Side, silver, if anybody has colored silver, or black bumpers. hit me up lol
