In NC does your vehicle have to have some sort of muffler to pass inspection? Are strait pipes legal and pass inspection in NC?

no it has to have a muffler and a cat installed. and becides i dont know why you would want to run a straight piped truck all it does it huit your performace

in all its better for performance to run one so no reason you should not

Hmmm so I can't legaly run straight pipes with cats in.... So I guess a blown out glasspack would be the next best thing. How exactly do you blow out a glasspack?

get the inside (glass packing) really hot with a torch then drop it in a bucket of water, the colder the better I believe. Not entirely sure this would even pass inspection but at least your have a "muffler" on it.
