| | My cats are bad, wondering what is the best way to fix it.
So my front cat went bad and my rear one the guts are knocked loose not yet bad but i want to keep my truck legal. Would the magna flow mid pipe set up with cats be the best with no port and stock headers? (2000 4.0L V6) I want to keep it opened up, I've got the cam just waiting for the money to port and get headers. | | Register and never see these ads again. | | |

I've got a similar situation. Check engine codes tell me i have 2 bad cats...It says they are "low efficency." I have googled this a lot and come up with a lot of mixed answers. Some say its great to take them off and others argue that it reduces back pressure which the motor needs in order to run correctly...Still haven't got a solid answer.

I'm worried because it's true about burning up your valves if you don't have the back pressure but wondering if it would still burn up with one high flow cat.
